How Our Puppies Grow Up

7-12 Weeks – The best time to bring a puppy to its new home, Puppy still has a short attention span but make sure you introduce your puppy to your friends and family!

Take care of you puppy because this is the time that can have lasting effects on them. (eg. Traumatic situations)

12 -16 Weeks – Puppy wants to see if they are boss, keep firm on all your rules! Its never to young to start training. Start with the word NO.

4-6 Months – Pup is a teenager and will attempt to not obey you so its essential some obedience has been thought before this. Puppy is also getting adult teeth so lots of toys and bones that can be chewed on would be excellent!

6 -12 Months – Puppy might try to be aggressive or even scared during these months, make sure not to praise Pup’s fear. It’s the time to give you Pup confidence. During this time Pup may become sexually mature, the males will start to lift their legs and females will have their first heat cycle.

1-4 Years – Pup is growing up and so long as Pup has structure and fun times they should stay the happy, friendly dog they were brought up to be!
